Our Mission:
Transitions for Youth (TFY) is a multifaceted state-wide initiative that utilizes a positive youth development framework to address the various needs of youth transitioning to adulthood. We are especially committed to serving communities and their most vulnerable young people, specifically those youth involved in foster care, juvenile justice and the mental health system.
Our Goal:
To make sure that all aforementioned populations have the knowledge of resources available to them to make a successful transition from adolescence into adulthood.
We Believe:
Personalized high quality service is a necessity for achieving a rewarding experience while participating in our programs. We are committed to supporting this goal by working together to recognize and meet the needs of our young people through mutual respect and partnership.
Our Funding:
TFY is funded primarily through the Department of Children and Families, Adolescent Services Unit and the Department of Human Services, Division of Addiction Services and coordinated by the Institute for Families, The School of Social Work at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
